Health & Safety

Red 4 Consulting Limited (Red 4) is effectively an expert in a niche part of Health and Safety, and as such, Health and Safety is paramount to what we do.

Health and Safety is a focal point for Red 4, and it is assured that all our people are confident and competent in the tasks they’re assigned. Supervision is provided (at Red 4’s expense) by our senior staff, until such a time as our people have successfully completed Red 4’s internal training for each component of our work.

Red 4’s people are externally trained and hold relevant certificates to perform tasks such as:

  • Working at heights
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Operating mobile elevated work platforms
  • First aid

Prior to attending site, Red 4 will preliminarily research information pertaining to the site and a Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) is created, illustrating potential hazards and control measures to minimise the associated risk, so far as is reasonably practicable. The SSSP includes a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) or Task Analysis (TA) for the required works.

Upon arrival at site (daily), a walk around is completed by the most senior (Red 4) person on site and the SWMS is updated to reflect additional hazards which may be present. All Red 4 staff working on the site are briefed on potential site hazards prior to commencing work on the site, each day throughout the duration of the project.

On sites controlled by main contractors, such as demolition sites, Red 4 will sign onto the safety management systems and protocols implemented by the main contractor.

All works conducted by Red 4 are conducted in accordance with:

  • The Health and Safety at Work Act, 2015
  • The Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations, 2016
  • Red 4’s Internal Health and Safety Policy

In the event of a near miss or accident resulting in injury, the client’s nominated contact is informed and an incident report is prepared using both Red 4’s internal and the client’s preferred reporting systems.

Required personal and respiratory protective equipment is provided to our people, who receive internal training on how to properly utilise it.

A copy of Red 4’s internal health and safety policy is available upon request.
